Intern

Requirements: We are seeking an accounting intern for approximately 2 or 4 days a week (we will offer some flexibility for the right candidate). We are looking for a student who has completed at least five full-time semesters and will be working towards a degree in accounting. Our full-time experienced accounting staff will provide “in house” training and direct supervision of all accounting interns. Applicants must have a working knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Intern duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Basic accounting assistance preparing schedules
  • Audit fieldwork (some travel across Nassau and Suffolk Counties may be required)
  • Assistance preparing federal, state and other regulatory filings
  • Investment portfolio reconciliations
  • Assistance with office administration

We have had much success with our internship program in the past, as our interns are able to experience many different aspects of the audit process and are given an opportunity to interact with partners in the firm, as well as our clients.  The specialization our firm has in working with not-for-profit and governmental clients provides interns and staff auditors with a unique opportunity that is not available in most other accounting firms.
